The Dark Knight in New York...

Director Christopher Nolan has taken “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises” to New York City, where filming over the weekend was caught on video by fans. The scenes included a big showdown between good and evil. The videos show a street fight between the Gotham City Police and a gang of cons led by the evil Bane, played by Tom Hardy. Christian Bale is reprising his role as Batman, and the film also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon, played by Gary Oldman. Anne Hathaway plays Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, and Morgan Freeman returns as Lucius Fox. Over the summer, filming took place in Pittsburgh on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. Live footage The school’s stately buildings were used as stand-ins for Gotham’s major municipal buildings. In October, shooting on the $250 million film shifted to Los Angeles. One of the latest videos, shot from the upper floor of a building, gives a good overhead view of the scale of the action, which took up a whole city block. Three Batmobiles in desert camouflage are also in the scene. Essentially, Bane’s unruly mob charges up one end of the street, while police, led by Batman, converge from the other end. Gunfire punctuates the battle as the men clash in hand-to-hand combat. Ironically, she scene was shot on Wall Street in the Financial District, which has been under siege recently by real life protesters. The film is scheduled for release in the United States and Canada on July 20, 2012. Check out the videos...
