Easy ways to manage your followers and non-followers
Do you think its UN-respectful to not follow twitter users that are following you? Or if you want to attract new followers or just basically clean up your twitter account making room for improvements! Well if you do, to make life easier there are a number of cool third party tools that you can use to manage your twitter account, just by signing into your twitter account, no registration forms to fill in, just authorize the application to use your twitter account.

Tweepi [Free & paid]
Tweepi allow you to manage followers and cleanup your twitter account, by removing followers that are not following you, follow follwers that are following you that you are not following, unfollow users that are not tweeting anymore or have not tweeted in a while, follow lists, follow friends, follow followers of followers and on and on, the free version of this application is excellent and if you pay $9.99 (around £6.50) you can make all these features automated so you do not have to do a thing.

Twuffer [100% Free]
Twuffer is a great free utility (application) that allows you to schedule your tweets. It has been proven that timing your tweets attracts new followers, we have experienced this first hand (it works), you can create weeks worth of tweets to keep your tweets regular by creating a scheduled list to post at certain times of the day, this system will also display your tweets on the website home page, this is optional at no charge.

Timely [100% Free]
Timely is almost the same kind of application as “Twuffer” (featured above), allowing you to post scheduled tweets to your account, but timely works out the best time to post your tweets and allows you to tweet up to nine times a day, we have ours set to five as you do not want to over do it hey! The only difference is that you can not set a time to tweet as this is automatically done for you and they do not display your tweets on the website.

Twitter Feed [100% Free]
Well we have been using Twitterfeed since the first edition of (G)Magazine, what this application does is allows you to tweet your blog posts or website posts or even RSS feeds you are subscribed to to both twitter and Facebook automatically. The system checks your feeds at certain times (set by you) to look for new items added to the feed then posts them to your twitter account or on your Facebook wall. This is a bit naughty because basically it is a bot and every tweet it makes will contain a link to the page the RSS feed s related too. So just make sure you manually or scheduled tweets as well, as using twitterfeed.

TweetMeme is a service which aggregates all the popular links on Twitter to determine which links are popular. TweetMeme categorises these links into Categories, Subcategories and Channels, making it easy to filter out the noise to find what you’re interested in. Basically allowing you to follow tweeters that are tweeting about interesting subjects.

My Likes [100% Free]
My Likes, allows you to earn from tweeting, but you do have to tweet about subjects that they ether suggest or topics that you choose, basically if someone following your tweets clicks on the tweet link you will earn a few pence in your MyLikes account. I would not suggest only using this application to tweet but if the tweet you are earning from i relevant and interesting, then why not earn a few quid from it. again I would only suggest using this if you have many followers and are well respected on twitter.

Twit Pic [100% Free]
Twitpic is a cool little application that simply allows you to post photos to your twitter account and write a tweet about the photo. But what i liked most about this app is you can take a photo with your mobile phone the email the application with a unique email address to your account, to tweet about the photo but just adding your tweet into the email subject, how cool is that. Photographs are getting very popular on twitter and there photo gallery page makes it a nice addition to any twitter account.

Just Unfollow [Free & Paid]
Now I cam across this application before, Formulists and Tweepi so it rarely gets used. but none the less we still use it. Just Unfollow allows you to do exactly what it sounds like, it allows you to unfollow users that are not following you and vice-a-versa, the only down side with this application is, unless you pay for it they only allow you to unfollow and follow 25 twitter account and it even like it is automatic, you still have to manually unfollow and follow by clicking a link. So it is worth mentioning but at the bottom of the list.

InstaBG [100% Free]
I just thought this was a cool simple application that generates a background for your twitter account by using images that have been added by your followers or tweeters you are folowing, you can manage how to select the photos by categories or certain accounts, but this automatically updates as the tweeters update photos on there accounts, a nice little addition if you don’t know what to have as your twitter background.
