I’m not exactly sure what the BT Sports Industry Award are, but they had the good sense to invite hottie 90210 actress Jessica Lowndes and ask her to wear a little something showy. So, she arrived as requested. And quite the spectacular cleavetastic show it was. While James Mangold’s The Wolverine is ramping up the publicity for its release this summer, principal photography for X-Men: Days of Future Past is just getting started. And though official publicity for that project won’t begin for quite some time, director Bryan Singer has already released a number of revealing images via Twitter. Indeed, since pre-production began, Singer has tweeted glimpses of everything from Nicholas Hoult in the new Beast makeup to Patrick Stewart as Professor X to Halle Berry in her new Storm outfit (among other things). Sharlto Copley and Neill Blomkamp have a good thing going. After working together in the Oscar-nominated 2009 film District 9, the pair reunited for Blomkamp’s Elysium. Now, according to a new report, the actor will be rejoining Blomkamp for his new film, Chappie. Entertainment Weekly was the first to report the casting, though Copley hinted at the news this past weekend in a Facebook post. So far, not much is known about the movie, apart from the fact that it’s a sci-fi comedy set in an “unusual setting.” (However, our own Kyle Hembree did have some interesting theories in a recent article. After Magic Mike became one of the biggest surprise hits of 2012, there was seemingly instant talk of a Magic Mike 2. While the first film was charming, funny and sensitive, for many, its premise seemed more suited to a standalone story. However, in a recent interview, director Steven Soderbergh talked about the sequel’s progress and noted that the filmmakers still have plenty of fresh material to work with. While talking with Pride Source earlier this week, Soderbergh – who is still set to take a break from directing - said that he has been lending a helping hand in developing Magic Mike 2, which is fraught with story ideas based on Channing Tatum’s real-life experiences as an exotic dancer that Soderbergh couldn’t fit into the first film. Shared universes are old hat in the comic book world, and in the case of Marvel most of their mainstream comics take place within the continuity of Earth-616. This reality exists within a multiverse that consists of hundreds of known universes and potentially thousands more (incidentally, the reality we currently live in – devoid of superheroes, mutants and special powers – is Earth-1218). However, on the big screen, a shared universe has rarely been tried before – largely because keeping continuity between sharply branching movie franchises with different producers, screenwriters and directors working on each film (in addition to orchestrating huge and potentially highly impactful events for their plots) is an exhausting task. By now, the announcement of Call of Duty: Ghosts is all but a foregone conclusion. After box art and game details leaked last week, many thought the rumor stars were aligning, and Infinity Ward was finally stepping away from the Modern Warfare franchise, but those were just rumors. Now, Infinity Ward and Activision have taken it upon themselves to tease the next Call of Duty via their official site. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s a ‘Ghost’ image front and center. At the convergence of Kinect and the power of projection lies Microsoft’s latest weapon in the war for the living room: IllumiRoom. Unveiled this January at CES 2013, garnering reactions from the skeptical to the bespectacled, the still-prototype IllumiRoom harnesses Kinect‘s motion-sensing capabilities as it projects dynamic, real-time images across a wide, living-room-wall sized field of vision (all the while communicating with the Xbox itself, of course). Disney rocked the entertainment world last fall with news that it had acquired Lucasfilm and planned to re-launch the Star Wars film franchise, starting with Episode 7 in 2015. Just as millions of fanboys voices cried out, they were suddenly silenced as the questions started to arise. Now that we know J.J.
